The Institute of Experimental Endocrinology – Investigating Hormonal Regulation and Action

All our life is influenced by hormonal action. Hormones regulate our physical and mental development and take influence on our conscious and unconscious behavior, in their effects, however, underlying continuous alterations throughout different phases of life.  Endocrinology, as a scientific discipline, addresses issues of formation, degradation, transport and effect of hormones.

At the Institute of Experimental Endocrinology, active research for providing a better understanding of these processes is being performed, where special emphasis is put on thyroid hormones and the multiple effects they exert in our organism.   Guided and coordinated by a staff of dedicated and renowned scientists, new knowledge has been gathered from various research projects, which now is being implemented in the fields of biology, medicine, and laboratory diagnostics.
